‘THE 39 STEPS’ An amazing fast paced play

I would definitely check this out. A good friend of mine Laura Lamansky (an amazing theater director I must say) invited me to attend this wonderful play, and boy I’m glad she did. This is a must see for anyone! Me being in film, I wasn’t too excited to see this once I was invited, but when the curtains were drawn and the actors walked on stage, from the first word to the last word spoken on stage, I was astonished at how well the four actors took advantage of the creative possibilities in theater. I was BLOWN AWAY.

Yes you read correctly, a cast of four. Four incredibly talented actors. But enough of me babbling on and on about how marvelous this play is. Do your self a much needed favor and enjoy yourself for once (especially in this economy), and watch THE 39 STEPS.

Below is an excerpt from the site itself.
“Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have THE 39 STEPS, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This 2-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of 4), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance!”

In THE 39 STEPS, a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she’s a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called “The 39 Steps” is hot on the man’s trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale! A riotous blend of virtuoso performances and wildly inventive stagecraft, THE 39 STEPS amounts to an unforgettable evening of pure pleasure!

By the way, I’m a big fan of Hithcock.
